The exact cause for the rosacea is still a mystery, but several multi factor causes induce these diseases. Helicobacter pylori: Some of the rosacea researchers believe that there is a relationship between the rosacea and the Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infections of the gastric mucosa. Many of the studies have shown that most of the patients with rosacea have Hp positive gastritis. But till today no one has investigated that there is a definite link between these.

Demodex folliculorum: This is a type of mites which are most frequently found in the rosacea patients. This mite may make the rosacea even worse in the affected patients.
Psychogenic factors: Psychological problems such as stress may influence rosacea but it is not the primary cause.

Genetic: Rosacea is strongly a genetic related problem. Studies have shown that around 30 to 40% of patients with rosacea have genetic related conditions.

Light: UV rays or Ultraviolet light is a major participant in the development of rosacea. It mainly affects the dermal connective tissue, blood vessels, lymphatic.

Endocrine Disease: This includes pregnancy, menses or premenopausal which increases the chance of rosacea growth in a person.

Medications: Certain medicines such as nitroglycerine drugs may lead to the cause of these diseases

Immunological factors: Studies have shown that immune abnormalities such as different types of antinuclear antibodies in the blood may lead to the cause of rosacea. Rosacea is most commonly found in the patients affected by HIV infection.
